‘The music to look out for in 2010 - SMOKEY ANGLE SHADES - Imagine The Faces
crossed with The Band”
The “New World Rock and Rollers” as they
liked to be called are set to release their new single the incredibly infectious
Ha Ha Tree on independent label TAPE on
May 17th.
Stoner rock, with a country swagger and a blues rhythm Smokey Angle Shades have produced many’s a great night out for anyone lucky enough to see them live. They stormed on to people lists for 2010 by winning over many admirers at this year’s SXSW.
Producing infectious harmonies, throughout
their melodic catalogue these guys have been harnessing their sound, and now
are ready to reveal what they can do to the masses. Named after a night flying moth, Smokey
Angle Shades formed in London 2008. The band comprises of Fred Stitz from
Germany, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist with a bouncing stage presence. Nipsy Fergus Russell
from Northern Ireland, who plants old school rock guitar lines and riffs with a
twang wherever he can. Ned Crowther from England, who provides harmony and melody
akin to The Beach Boys. Plus Antonio Feola from Italy, the soul of Smokey Angle
Shades rhythm.
Definitely a feel good, inspiring
and catchy song, Ha Ha Tree has the roots of something very special.
