| Releases Robots With Hearts............................. Today is the release day for Robots With Hearts debut EP, Divided By Zero. Released in the wake of the promising collaboration between two hip-hop and electronica stalwarts of the experimental, who have for years been working at the frontiers of the music world, this project is an original collaboration between Animals on Wheels (Andy Coleman) and iCON the Mic King (Michael King), who met in 2006 in Rakvere, Estonia. Their recognition in each other of a kindred spirit in their respective quests for razor sharp lyrical adventures and morphing rhythmic exploration was the beginning of a journey which is already gaining momentum. The impressive technical abilities of these two combine in a project which doesn’t take itself too seriously, but which brings together the very best of their respective genres with complex rhythms and crackling vocals. Their music is effortlessly visceral, pure grit which nevertheless presents melodic charm. We have a limited run of 10" vinyl in cork sleeve which can be bought here, the EP is also available on iTunes / 7Digital etc. Listen to Downward Spiral here. The Robots are back in the studio, check out the recent film opposite, shot in Sarm Studios, of Icon talking about plans. We'll be releasing their first album in the new year. www.robotswithhearts.com |

| Theo
Bard................... Today also see's the release of Theo's first EP, Listen Carefully. 'a reggae-infused pop philosopher... on the cusp of very good things' The Guardian A 5 track collection of beautiful tunes, relaxed lyrics softly delivered, and an infectious bounce. ranging from wickedly upbeat rhythms to a laid-back folk style. Bard’Äôs remarkably rich and melodic voice charms us, just as thoughtful lyrics claim our full attention. As a nimble finger-picking style backs tunes firmly grounded in the contemporary world, Bard takes us on a brief journey through the world as he sees it. As he says: 'Every song tells a story, sums up a time of my life or a train of thought. 'As a man who last summer stopped a coal train headed for the Drax coal-fired power station, and who has just been handed the lightest possible sentence by the judge, Theo has excellent stories to tell. He says: 'There aren’t many musicians writing about climate change, and I’m trying to reach people who wouldn’t usually take an interest'. For now, though, Theo says: 'It feels like an exciting journey is just beginning, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.' This is the perfect coming together of old and new, the essential contemporising of traditional folk music which keeps it alive and retains all of its relevance. A technically sound delivery, imaginative song-writing and confident live appearances make Theo Bard a man for the future. The EP is available on CD from our site, here, and also available on iTunes. Theo is currently recording his new single 'When the Cold Days Come' which will be released early next year. As always, Theo is busy on the live circuit, you can find out about his forthcoming gigs here: www.taperec.com/live www.myspace.com/theobard |
